JT Website v3 is here!

Last September 1st, the new version of my website was launched, and I can finally say that it’s about 99% finished and stable. The previous version was fine, but I made it in 2013, and it was already outdated in some aspects (for example, mobile adaptation). In fact, for a few years I had thought that at some point I would need to give it a new vision and rebuild the site from scratch. Since I am actually closing a period (The Electronic Years I) and started in spring to conceptualize this new version, I set as my main objective for this summer to create and finish the new website. The work has been harder and longer than I initially thought, but I believe it has been worth it. I’m really satisfied with v3. The website is fully responsive, adapted for phones, tablets, and different screen sizes, and I’ve designed a modern visual style that I hope you like. The downside is that accessing it is slow, due to its complexity and heavy load, but I wanted an ambitious design, built for the future (and my hosting is shared 😛). My idea is that v3 will serve as the final version of the website, so I won’t have to think about new versions in the future.

Regarding the content, I’ve kept all the old information and improved most of the sections: ‘Biography’, ‘Discography’, ‘Indepent Tracks’, ‘Gallery’ and ‘Contact’ sections… I’ve also added a bit more information. For example, in the ‘Discography’ section I’veve added lyrics. I’ve updated some things too.

On another note, this summer I started a new metal project with an old friend. Our current goal is to create a professional production and record some songs. This will be difficult because we are working remotely, and the project is still in an experimental phase. We will go slowly; we’re not in a hurry, but we hope everything works properly if we are patient. It’s complex to make this work, but we are trying. My main role at the moment is production and engineering, and everything is flowing smoothly (but slowly!). Musically, our starting point will be: Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Annihilator, and maybe a bit of Megadeth. We have some interesting ideas, but we’ll share them when the time comes.

As for my own projects, once I finish my transition process, I think I’ll focus on ambient and experimental electronics. I would like to work for a few years like artists such as Steve Roach, Robert Rich or Ran Kirlian: ambient, improvisations, experimentation, synthesizers, sound exploration, drones, freedom… As I wrote in summer, I want to concentrate on instruments, hardware equipment, and spontaneity. Anyway, I haven’t closed any doors and remain open to other options… As always, time will tell!

But now, regarding my own projects, it’s time to close my last period, and I have some pending tasks:

-To finish the song I started recording for CAUTIVA around two years ago! (75% finished!)

-To finish an ambient study I began around two years ago too! (25% finished 😛 )

-To make some modifications in my studio (well, this is part of the new upcoming period).

-To update some licenses for my albums in digital distribution and media licensing.

-To work on some retrospectives (I have an interesting idea divided into three parts and a maximum 4-CD release).

Once I finish all this, I’ll be starting my new period (and I’m excited about it!).

Since I haven’t been able to do anything related to my music for a year (lack of time), all of this is a big mess. But the important thing now is that I hope to have some time each day, and little by little, things will get done.

Best wishes, and stay away from the bug!

Now playing – JEAN-MICHEL JARRE: Magnetic Fields (what a classic!)
