Hello there!
First of all, I hope everything is well with you, your family, and friends.
It’s been just half a year since the last time I wrote here… Not much to tell, and not many projects I have been working on. Since September, I’ve had much more time for music than the previous year (which was really awful due to a complete lack of time for my private life or hobbies), but anyway, over the last few months, I’ve had to spend much more time and energy on my job than I expected (because of the COVID-19 situation in Spanish schools). After all that, day by day, I don’t find much pleasure in creating music or doing anything creative. I just work at school, then I work more at home, then I have my family life, and not much else… I feel that now is not the time to create music or add something complex to my life, so I try to relax a bit by watching films or listening to music. Still, from time to time, I do something related to my work, my music, my studio, and so on. I’ll tell you a bit:
First, at the end of December I had vacations and found time to create a new experimental/ambient track. I’ve called it “Sleeping With Ghosts”, and it’s a really experimental recording in which I wanted to explore the concepts of time, space and transmutation through music and auditory sensations. This track is different from anything I’ve made in the past, but I hope you like it. I shared it today in the Independent Tracks section.
Second, veeryyyy occasionally I work on a new metal project, a collaboration I mentioned on this website last September. It’s close to stopping, but some work has been done. Right now, I don’t really know what will happen with it!
Third, I made some changes to my studio last summer, but they didn’t work; I didn’t feel comfortable with them. So, at the beginning of 2021, I decided to take a radical approach: to start from scratch. I removed all my furniture and equipment and began working from zero on sound, acoustic panels, layout, and so on… The idea was to try something new, different from conventional home studios or studio recordings, keeping in mind future projects I’d like to do and equipment I’d like to buy. The idea was risky because I might have had to return to the original configuration after days of work, but in the end, it was worth it! I haven’t finished yet and am currently at a standstill, waiting for a few acoustic panels from the UK that have still not arrived (Brexit and a really frustrating UPS!), but I’m very happy with the new setup. When I finish, maybe I’ll upload some pictures.
…And well, I believe I won’t have much activity here over the next few months, but I hope summer will be a different story! 🙂
Best wishes, stay healthy and good luck!

Now playing – AKVARIUM: Kostroma, Mon Amour 🙂
