After finishing the new remaster of «Human» (LP, 2009) and working on a compilation of CAUTIVA that I want to release next year, I thought it would be a good moment to continue directly with the remaster of «The Archangel Of Omega» (EP, 2015), as well as some material I want to rescue from «Fire, Walk With Me!» (EP, 2008). The idea is for my new metal project to eventually merge with CAUTIVA, to release a new mini-LP in 2020, and to finish the year with a compilation of new and old material.
Regarding my new metal project, for a while I considered using a different name—I AM THE OMEGA—and directing the music toward a different style: less progressive/technical, faster and more extreme, inspired by bands like Nile, Morbid Angel, or Behemoth, including passages with additional exotic instruments and atmospheres. However, after long reflection, I finally concluded that the best option is to direct the new music to CAUTIVA. I’ll keep some of the previously mentioned aspects, but in smaller doses, combining a heavier sound and new ideas with the CAUTIVA concept. I think this is a good balance.
Returning to the new remaster of «The Archangel Of Omega», you can find it on Bandcamp. The new master brings a punchier guitar sound and a better balance among instruments. By the way, it’s currently available for free download: I’ve decided to set all my Bandcamp releases to 0 USD/EUR! 🙂
As for my new recordings, I have begun working again on my new metal recordings (the new CAUTIVA material) and hope to finish the first track by August. A few months ago, I shared some excerpts from it. The important thing now is that I have completed 95% of the production and engineering for the rhythmic guitars, bass, and drums. I’m currently on vacation and can fully concentrate on composing and recording. I’m very, very happy with the sound. It has been reaaaaallllyyyy hard to achieve the sound I was looking for—countless days and hours—but I got it, and I truly believe it’s a great metal sound! Really heavy, dark, and savage, yet clean. I hope you like it too!
