Summer has usually been a time when I work more on my music (for example, last summer I recorded the «Tunguska» EP), but on this occasion I have broken my own rules: since the release of «No More Faith» in April, I haven’t written or recorded anything yet (except for some private improvisations). Over the past few months, I’ve spent my time on other matters. Regarding music, I’ve just been testing new computer programs and improving my home studio (maybe I’ll upload some pictures), but not much more.
This time, summertime is just summertime, and I don’t have many personal updates to share with you at the moment! The most interesting thing is that during this period, some video artists—like Brenda Clews and Eugenio Fructuoso—have made videos in which my music plays a relevant role. I’m sharing Eugenio’s piece as an example, where you can hear part of the song «Fire, Walk With Me!» (Cautiva’s «Fire, Walk With Me!» EP, 2008) throughout the video. Watch!:
Other artists have contacted me to use my music in their videos (mainly shorts), and it’s possible I will record some specific pieces for some of them, but time will tell… Thank you very much to all of them!
On the other hand, over the last few days I’ve made some minor corrections, modifications, and upgrades to this website. I suppose this month I’ll begin working on some music, but I have a problem: I have a lot of project ideas that I would like to try (from dark ambient music to rap), but I don’t have the brainpower or the time to cover all of them! 😛 Maybe I’ll record some short releases or single tracks experimenting with styles I’ve never tried before; I really need to think about all this… Anyway, I have two things in mind for sure: first, I would like to record new music for the CAUTIVA project (not a full album, just a few new songs or even a new cover); second, I’m seriously thinking about recording a new solo piano album… You see! A lot of things in my head! 🙂
