Greetings to everyone!
Last week it was released «Elements», my third and final compilation of 2022. In this case, «Elements» is the big project: a 4-LP compilation with more than 4 hours of music covering all my work to date (from 1994 up to my last composition of this year!). As I mentioned in my last post, this extended compilation, subtitled «A Comprehensive Introduction To Jose Travieso (1994-2022)», is divided in 4 discs/parts, and each disc is related to one of the four elements. So, Disc #1 (Earth), with a heavy emotional load most of the time, is dedicated to my romantic, piano and neo-classical/post-minimalist music. Disc #2 (Water) is dedicated to my experimental and avant-garde music, changing music as the states of the water… Disc #3 (Fire) is dedicated to my technical, progressive and extreme thrash metal project CAUTIVA. Finally, Disc #4 (Air) is dedicated to my electronic music, where wind and air play an important role. As a result, this work flows as a self-explained journey which help to understand my music, even for me!
All the music has been remastered (except for two recent tracks), and personally this project has helped me to make a nice revision of my old stuff (2003 and previous years), which in many cases I hadn’t listened to in years.
It’s important to mention that part of this big 4-LP compilation has been previously released in the past months. Specifically, Disc #3 is the same as Cautiva’s «Songs Of Love, Hate And Death» (compilation, 2022); and Disc #4 is very close to «The Electronic Years – 2016-2020» (compilation, 2022).

With this work I close forever an important period: all the music that I’ve been creating over the past decades. From here, in the future, I want to start new plans in my life. I don’t know yet if music will be part of them, but if so, it will definitely be a new starting point. So, with the final release of «Elements», I’m crossing a point of no return! 🙂 2023 will be a year of experimentation, mostly with non-musical projects, but I also have some musical ideas… I just don’t know yet if they will work or not… We’ll see…
