5th of June. A day like today, but 10 years ago -2009-, the LP «Human» was released, the most important recording I’ve ever made under the name of CAUTIVA. I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate these 10 years with a new digital release, featuring a remastered sound and all the instrumental bonus tracks included in the 2010 special edition.
During the past months I hadn’t thought about it, but in May I realized that «Human» was turning 10, so I found the perfect moment to dedicate a little time to this work and create something special for the anniversary. First of all, not everyone could listen to the instrumental bonus tracks from the 2010 CD edition, so it was the perfect time to include them as part of the regular Bandcamp release. On the other hand, I had long thought about the idea of remastering this CD. Finally, it seems I found the opportunity, as I dedicated a few days to work on it. The main challenge was that I had to work directly from the 2009 “dirty” master files —not the final mixes. (‘Dirty’ because they weren’t polished or professional.) As a result, my range of action was very limited, and I had to accept some compromises with the sound. Anyway, I was able to make the sound clearer and more balanced, respecting the concepts I had in 2009 while doing a bit of restoration.
You can find this new 10th anniversary edition on Bandcamp.
At least for a long time, this new release will be FREE there. Enjoy it!
